The New Jersey Devils fourth liners were at it again Wednesday night in their game 2 victory at The Garden.

Ryan Carter scored the Devils biggest goal of the playoffs to date late in the second period to tie the score at two in a Rangers dominated second period that saw them score two power play goals to give themselves a 2-1 lead.

Isles prospect Jesse Joensuu showed today why the Islanders organization has confidence in his ability to play on the professional level.  With two goals, including the game winner with .08 seconds remaining in the third period in their quarterfinal matchup with the United States, Joensuu lifted team Finland to a 3-2 victory and a berth in the IIHF semifinals.

With the victory Finland advances to play Russia in the IIHF semifinals this Saturday.

The Rangers lost out on their first two opportunities to go ahead 2-0 in a series already this postseason and they can not let another one slip away from them. After a 3-0 shutout in game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Rangers have to be confident that if they can play their game they should come away with the victory. Also considering that the home team has one the last 4 games between the Rangers and the Devils and that the Devils are 1-4 in their last five games at MSG they have some numbers on their side as well. It is the trademark of this team to put their bodies on the line and to stop shots, if they keep it up they will continue to get in the Devils heads like we saw Monday night. The Rangers had 26 block shots in

I hate the New Jersey Devils, I hate everything about them, I hate the guy who writes for the Devils here and I never even met him. Hating the Devils is something that is in my soul something I grew up doing and it comes very easily to me. The Devils to me are the "noisy neighbor", if you watch English Football there is a lot of talk of "noisy neighbors" with Machester City taking down cross town rival Machester United for the league title this past weekend. When the Rangers won the Stanley Cup in 1994 I was first starting to really appreciate what hockey was all about. I started playing street hockey just before that and would have to endure "1940" chants from my Islander friends.

As I am sure you have heard already and if you have not let me be the first, no team has ever won the Stanley Cup when playing 14 games in the first two rounds of the NHL Playoffs. Only 2 teams have done it playing 13 games, so long series in the first two rounds takes a lot out of a team. That is what both the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals have in front of them as they take the ice to play Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. I mean it seems obvious to any hockey fan that teams playing in more tough playoff games early have a disadvantage as the playoffs go on. I just think that this year could different.

If the New York Rangers do win tonight and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals to play the New Jersey Devils it will not be easy, but it will be a series that the Rangers can win. Not only that but its a rival, their biggest rival, and I can't see a situation where they do all this hard work all season, battle the first two rounds of the playoffs just to get to the Eastern Finals against a team that they cannot stand and would not want to see win and just bow out? Not this team that is for sure. Like it has been said all year this team runs off the captain and the goaltending. Ryan Callahan is not going to go out and give up

John Tavares' third goal of the tournament kicked off four-straight goals for Team Canada in their 5-3 comeback win over Finland on Friday in Helsinki.  Canada then took care of business today with an 8-0 defeat of team Kazakhstan.

It’s been a long week of nothing for the New Jersey Devils so far.

No, that doesn’t mean they’re out playing golf somewhere on an island, the Devils are firmly situated in this years Eastern Conference Finals, and they are just waiting to find out whom their next foe might be.

Jordany Valdespin’s first major league hit couldn’t be any bigger as he blasted a three run homerun off Jonathan Papelbon, breaking a 2-2 9th inning tie and giving the Mets a thrilling 5-2 victory.
